TWO KINDS OF CRAZY
Let Us Pray
Heavenly Father, thank you for another day, thank you for watching over us all night long. Lord as we begin this day, we pray for strength, encouragement, protection, kindness to one another, and over all joy to be alive. Lord bless us through this pandemic, bless us through the rise of hate; we know Lord at any given moment you can change things, help us Lord in the midst of it all. Bless and strengthen that family hurting from a loss of a love one, we pray they’re heart will be healed. Bless us through the hatred spreading throughout the world, lord we know you have the situation under your control, bless the wicked hearted. Thank you for this day. Amen
Ah Lord GOD! Behold, you have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm. There is nothing too hard for You. Jeremiah 32:17
Hey everyone as we watch the goings on in the world, which seems to be so much, but I am particularly referring to the riots, and spreading of hatred l am reminded of a situation.
I had neighbors, which were really nice people, our children played together, we looked out for each other’s homes when either of us were out of town, took in each other’s packages, put the garbage can outside the road for pickup, and even mowed each other’s lawn if needed while the persons were away. Well as I reflect on what is going on in the world now, I am reminded of a situation that changed all that neighborly love. It was 2007 the year “my” president, Mr. Obama was campaigning and running for Presidency for 2008, boy the excitement was so overwhelming and out of control, but in such a good way, we put out signs declaring he was our choice for President.
Well something so simple as our choosing our candidate for president reared it’s ugly head. My husband was putting a sign in the yard (I had quite a few signs I had picked up for safe keeping), and the neighbor was outside at the time washing his car but stopped to watch my husband as he was looking for just the right spot to display the sign, just when the sign was hammered in the ground my husband looked up to see our neighbor standing over him. Cheerfully my husband greeted the neighbor like always but my neighbor was not smiling, instead he looked at the sign and seemed baffled like and said, you aren’t voting for Hillary? My husband said “no”, the neighbor then questioned what was wrong with Hillary? Okay color me crazy, why in the fluentnanny ( new word, you can borrow), would I not support a man that spoke on some of the things I supported, his ideas of change, healthcare ( even though it was titled OBAMACARE as a means of making fun of him), climate control, and speaking the truth he had swag.
Obama loved his family, honored his wife, and as a person of color it gave me so much pride as to how he carried himself, why would I not support him. Let’s keep it real I also supported him because of the shade of color he was, yes 49% of my support was because of his color. As long as he was not some doctor gone crazy and embarrassing his race, he had my vote. Well, that day ended any neighbor bond we had shared for the past 5 years, from then on there was barely a hello from our neighbors. No more Christmas cookies, no more garbage cans put out by the road in our absence, but we had numerous times of our Obama signs being stolen; but it didn’t matter I had plenty to replace for each sign taken. I mean what are you telling your children, they can’t play with the neighbors kid because we don’t share political views? Sad to say, this is the world in which we live, mask your differences, and principles if you care about being worldly accepted.
I am curious, in this world what gives one race of people greater superiority, they think?
God is love! Love you all.
Amen on that
